What is apitherapy?

Apitherapy is the use of the various hive products to promote health and healing.

How can I find out more about apitherapy?

As well as our extensive stock of apitherapy products, we also sell books and other items on the subject. If you’re interested in learning more, get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise you on books that discuss your particular area of interest.

It is also possible to provide, by arrangement, ‘one to one’ advice, tuition and guidance on specialist areas of apitherapy such as bee venom therapy. This can either be in your own area or by visiting us. It is best to call us to discuss your requirements and costs involved.

Bee Venom - The Bee's Sting

When stung there is usually an indication that your body has responded to the intrusion; redness and mild swelling are fairly normal. Some people are severely allergic to this and have an anaphylactic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. They have to carry a self-help device containing epinephrine that needs to be prescribed by a doctor. Others are able to consider bee venom therapy as a form of treatment for rheumatic and neurological conditions and there is much written on the subject. Use of this therapy should only be done after careful thought, discussion with an apitherapist and your own doctor. Therapy needs to be carefully monitored but we can advise so that you can make an informed decision as to whether this is for you.

Once we have carried out an advice and training session with you we are able to make arrangements for the supply of live bees, either by post or possibly through contacts with beekeepers local to you.
